Review 3/3/2008
|
I'm writing this review to warn others of this company's dishonesty and misrepresentations. I would strongly recommend NOT attending any class given by Compumatics. I recently paid nearly $400 to learn Adobe Illustrator and to be seen as an 'advanced' user. I received next to no instruction as all the students in the lab are learning different programs and therefore no lesson is being given. You simply receive a booklet of step-by-step instructions of which you follow on your own. I believe everyone would be better off spending that kind of money on textbooks or even the actual software if you don't already have access to it. The lessons supplied by Compumatics are simplified exercises. I was scheduled for eight sessions to learn every detail of Illustrator but was surprised to find there was hardly any material for me to teach myself with. Complex topics are rushed and simplified without hardly any exercises available. Nearly all of the files they gave me to learn this program were corrupt and unusable. There is a substantial amount of information left out of their pre-packaged lesson plans which was the biggest disappointment. I wish I had done more research on this company prior to enrolling in it's courses - it was a mistake I will not make again to be sure. The entire experience was dreadful and I felt cheated and taken advantage of - paying hundreds of dollars to learn almost nothing. When I asked for a partial refund due to lack of material I was immediately turned down and insulted. I strongly recommend not attending any course here.
