DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM to negotitate a deed in lieu of foreclosure. I hired them in June 2010 after paying $2850 upfront to handle a DIL for my mortgage. The intial person I spoke with, an account executive, told me that they would not accept my case until their legal dept "approved" it - meaning that they were positive that my bank would negotiate with them. After getting a prompt call back that their legal dept approved it, the process began of requesting all the necessary documents from me. I was comfortable with the 90-120 day timeframe they quoted me for final resolution and was glad I contacted them immediately after going past due. Then I was passed on to a person in the processing dept. Within 2-3 weeks, they had all the info they needed from me to pursue negotiations with my bank. I was very impressed with the speed my case was moving at this point and their processing drones seemed to stay atop my paperwork to ensure every t was crossed and every i was dotted. Keep in mind I was only 1 month behind on mortgage payments when I hired them. Then the silent treatment began. After numerous calls over the next 4 months to check on the status of my case, I was told that a mitigator would be in touch with me. When I asked who the mitigator was, I was given multiple first names and no last names. In early Sept, my bank sent me a pre-foreclosure letter, which I promptly forward to ARLG. Finally, on Oct 21, more than 3 months after they had a completed file on me and 6 weeks after sending them the pre-foreclosure letter, i was contacted by the mitigator telling me he was just assigned my case. This is the guy that actually picks up the phone and talks to the bank! Within a week of him getting the case, he is still trying to figure out who to talk to at the bank. Well the correct bank person to deal with was listed on the letter I sent them nearly 2 months prior! The mitigator finally spoke with the right person at the bank, only to learn that they cant accept a DIL because we are in pre-foreclosure!!!! Really??? THAT IS WHY WE HIRED THEM WHEN WE WERE ONLY ONE MONTH PAST DUE ON THE MORTGAGE!!!! Its ridiculous that we are forced into short selling and facing foreclosure in the near future because ARLG "processing" people dragged their feet getting my file to a mitigator in a timely manner. I am extremely dissatisfied that I trusted these people. I fell for the good BBB rating and thought I was making the right decision. Please do not make the same bad decision with something as important as your financial destiny.
