Kudos to those of you who have not paid ARLG $1500. We did pay the $1500 and what a mistake. After submitting everything they requested, they started telling us NOT to pay our monthly mortgage payments and to apply that money to other things. (They were always quick to add that as lawyers, they TECHNICALLY COULD NOT tell a client to not pay their mortgage, but they did on multiple occasions).
After being denied for one program, we were told that there were numerous other programs that we could apply for. However, because we made too much money they asked that we do a couple of things first. They wanted us to open a new checking account with a different bank and have my paycheck direct deposited into the new account. Then we were told to wait for a month until we received the monthly statement for our old checking account. By doing, this it would should that there was a reduction of income and our chances of being approved would be greater.
Now, the RED FLAGS were popping up all over the place and we stopped everything. But, upon telling them that we were no longer going through with the modification and that they could close our file, I also requested that they send me a copy of EVERYTHING they had in our file (FOR MY RECORDS). You never know when something is going to come back and BITE you in the A--. Guess what, to no surprise, I have not received anything from them and they will not even return my calls.
So just a word of advice stay far away from ARLG.
