I had a deal worked out with VW of Santa Monica's fleet manager for 2009 Jetta TDI Sportswagon for $26,213. In her email dated 07/29/09 she wrote "I will agree to sell you the car at invoice an not below invoice. Attached you will find the invoice." which is the $26,213 price. I agreed to this and she emailed me the total amount with the tax, license fee, minus the cash for clunkers that I need to bring with me when I pick up the car on 08/01/09.
Today, her manager called me and basically told me that he will only honor the deal if I pay $500 more than the agreed upon price.
These people are not just shady, they are crooks. The fact that they are willing to break a written agreement is beyond believe. I've never dealt with any business in this matter. Now they're not returning my calls. I'm taking them to small claims court for breaking a contract.
