VIZIO fails to honor their Warranty on the Defective charging port in my Tablet
I initially loved my Tablet. Being my first tablet I was amazed and in awe. A coworker bought one and loved it and I was sold. I bought two tablets with extended warranty coverage through sams club, one for me, one was given as a gift. this tablet has had a screen protector on it from day one. It started out that the charging cable would only charge if I jiggled it, then it would onlt charge if it was hanging at a slight angle so that it made contact inside the tablet. Then it totally refused to charge at all. I contacted Vizio and they had me jump through hoops, sending pictures of my receipt and three different pictures of the tablet confirming that there was no screen damage, or case damage. I mailed the tablet in, (at my own cost) and had no response for two weeks. Let me also relate that Vizio tried to obtain my credit card information before providing me shipping info for warranty repair. They wanted to bill me the full retail cost of a new tablet. They said that it was just a precaution. I declined to buy a new tablet and only then did they tell me that I had the option to send in the tablet and await the replacement. Coming from the stand point of a customer... It felt shady. The tablet arrived at their warehouse and I had no response for over two weeks. I just contacted them and they are stating that they will not honor their warranty because the tablet has screen damage, I attest that this tablet was flawless, and had ZERO screen damage, it was been my baby from day one. With a screen protector and vizio leather case. Its frustrating, I just started to research other complaints about this VIZIO TABLET and it appears that there is a widespread undercurrent with DEFECTIVE charging ports on this model of VIZIO TABLET. I would recommend other buyers to steer clear of the headache of buying this product, it may not end well for you. Vizio has seemingly offered a quality product in their advertisements, but then shrugged off my warranty repairs. I'm frustrated and feeling betrayed by VIZIO. I bought this product in good faith and accepted their promise of quality. Aside from the shady warranty coverage and defective manufacturing... I liked the tablet. I have owned two vizio flat screens for close to four years now, a 32 inch and a 42 inch, they see daily use and still work flawlessly. If only the tablet had turned out to be as reliable.
