My Fiance and I had been highly referred to VPI Pet Ins. from a family friend. So I signed up our pomeranian in Aug of 07. In Oct my dog was starting to act strange so I took him to the vet, he had kept him for three night to run some tests.(outcome bad kidneys) Knowing that this was gonna be expensive I didn't worry cause our dog was insured....SO I THOUGHT! After several mths of dealing with very bad operators, being told the claim was being reviewed, bending over backwards to get every little piece of information from every vet my dog has seen since I had purchased him, and still paying out of my account the mthly payment of $30.17, including the starter fee of $60.00. I had just been informed Dec 16th that my policy has been canceled w/ no refund and the reason being is the policy was only in effect three days before I had taken my dog to the vet. Which this I cant understand b/c I paid the $60 in Aug and my dog did not become ill until oct the 15th. So there reason for denial was I made fraudulent claims on my information when I started the policy. They are claiming that I knew that my dog was ill when I signed him up for the plan. I will not recommend them to anyone, and after the fact of all this, I found out they screwed over the people that referred us. I truly think this is just some scam to make some money and I hope the person behind it all feels really good about stealing from innocent people!
