My fiance and myself had a policy on two of our dogs, that ended up being a waste of money and an even greater waste of our time with dealing with their customer service and claims department. One of our dogs, less than a year old had to go through 3 different surgeries in which we believed were covered by our insurance policy, but were denied. One did not fall in the time frame from starting the policy, the 2nd was not covered because that paticular problem was not covered in their skin policy and the last one was due to hereditary circumstances that they had no proof was hereditary. But, not only was this a monitary issue, we also spent many hours on hold and on the internet trying to get a response from them. All we recieved back from them was the claim was recieved and in the process of being reviewed. The next step in their processes it to send you a letter that the claim was denied and put a reason as hereditary. No explanation, just a reason. I believe an insurance company should have evidence of this, writing from the doctor who performed the surgery or some other explanation to go along with a denial. This insurance company does not do anything like this and their responsiveness in regards to customer service is terrible. We have cancelled our policy on both dogs with this company as soon as we found out our third claim was denied. Even cancelling our policy took us a lengthy time to get a hold of someone to do so with the awfull cutomer service they parctice.
