WASTE OF MONEY. FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY!!!
When I started my current job in May 2006, I did not know that VPI was offered at a discount rate for employees. When I found out about this insurance, I signed up right away in December 2006. I have thought that $30 every two weeks was not too bad for piece of mind. You have the piece of mind until you see the benefits schedule and the real costs of seeing the vet. I have paid approx $550 for the plans on my two dogs. I called today to get an estimate of what would be covered on my vet bill from last week. My puppy had a rash when i brought him in. They did tests at the vet to see what was wrong. While he was at the vet, I had the heartworm test done to save time. The representative on the phone today informed me that nothing would be covered of my $300 vet bill because the tests revealed that my puppy had ringworm which is excluded. The heartworm test is not releated and I feel should have been covered but they said that they would not pay a penny! I canceled the policy within 5 minutes of that phone call.
