Each month we pay $50 a month for 9 years for the premium VPI coverage. Each time we take our dog into the vet, we are responsible for the whole bill. My wife and I take the invoice from the vet and submit for reimbursement. Last vet visit cost me 389.00 but after we got our refund back from VPI we got $190.00 minus $50 deducible totaling 140.00 check. Here is my concern. If I paying $50 for month for membership and during my visit cost me 389.00 and I received 140.00 back for refund, is the insurance really worth it??? I take my dog in at least 2x a year. Automatically VPI makes 600 from me for membership. If I took my dog for the same visits and it cost me 389 X 2 = 778.00 and I get 280.00 AFTER additional $50 per visit deducible from VPI, is it really worth it? I spent 1378.00/year but only got 280.00 back. So who is the crook here!!!! VPI is a savings account for you and it cost you $50 a month to keep it open. When you need the money to cover your bill for your dog, it COST YOU and then you get a SEMI reimbursment. The math just don't add up!!!!!!!!!!
