Dear Shoorin and Joy,
To say the least, our experience with Transamerica Moving and Storage was horrible. From start to finish your company never fulfilled its promise to load and deliver our home furnishings from Whidbey Island WA. To Fernley NV. Upon arrival in Washington, Your movers wanted their checks made out to an individual I had never heard of named Alex Plotkin, instead of Transamerica Moving and Storage, which Mona was told by Shoorin to make the check out to. He was very angry and told me he just lost out on 5% because I refused to make the check out to this person. He wrote the name on the back of some other individuals printed business card. He was angry as well due to the job before us telling me that “no offense, but they have women booking their loads and they have no clue what a move is” Because of his actions, I went outside and tried desperately to get a hold of Joy or Shoorin and they would not take my calls.
Upon their arrival Tony the driver told me to pay in full before he would leave our possessions which I immediately did in good faith. At this point I went back into the house was standing in my kitchen and the garage door comes flying open by the other driver who looked me in the eye menacingly and told me he couldn’t get started until he used the bathroom and brushed his teeth. Our bathrooms were not available to him because we had water beds that were being put together and the tubes were in the bathrooms. When I told him he couldn’t use it he said he’d go outside and use the hose but instead he spit and went inside the truck to smoke. I told Tony I didn’t appreciate this because it was uncalled for. They were angry because the second check for $618 dollars was also made out to Transamerica moving and not that individual. He knowingly charged my credit card and took the balance of payment then left everything in the garage and driveway. Which was completely premeditated. We were made promises by Shoorin and Joy that our belongings would be wrapped in Washington and unwrapped in our home in Nevada. I had no recourse for the items that were damaged; they were not even acknowledged for they dumped everything and left. I tried to call the driver to tell him of the damage and he hung up on me. I tried the driver because your company would not answer my calls.

Starting with the bidding process with Shoorin.
I called Transamerica for a bid and spoke with a sales rep name Shoorin, I let Shoorin know where we live and the specifications of our location. The driveway is 50 yards long gravel with slight curve. It’s approximately 10 yards wide. Shoorin assured us she would send a truck to accommodate the driveway. I made an issue of the driveway because a smaller truck would have no problem and Shoorin said it was no problem for a larger truck and that it would be a flat fee of $50 for the long walk. I reiterated the $50 flat fee, because if it were more I wanted to cancel. She had me go through the house and give her an approximate list of furniture and estimate how many boxes would be used. I called Shoorin back because there were items we decided not to bring that were heavy. Shoorin told me that it didn’t matter and it was not documented. She said she had run my credit card for my initial deposit, and that I had signed for a minimum of 4000lbs with an estimate of about 8000lbs. I told her I needed her to redo the estimate and she sent me one with about 6000lbs.
The day before the move my husband got involved when I was awaiting the arrival of the truck the next day at 7am, instead got a call at around 4 pm by Joy stating the move would now be a day late. The reason being they were now coming in a huge truck and needed to drive around instead of taking the ferry, this according to Joy was to save us money. She then promised a discount of $50 which never happened. All phone calls stopped being accepted by Shoorin and Joy the day of the move.
I received half of the service I had paid for, but my fair share of abuse and taunting by your company. I was completely distressed and needed to hire 2 other individuals to perform the same job I was just charged in full for. I was in Washington for the week before my move and did not have access to a fax so my husband called numerous times and was promised everything in writing by fax, the new quote, the $50 flat fee for the walk and the $50 discount due to you being late. The faxes never arrived, they were never received.
Damages
1. $125 for Ferry costs.
2. $200 for extra walk.
3. Tony wanted checks made out to individual Alex Plotkin.
4. Never received phone calls back from Joy or Shoorin.
5. Tony wanted final payment payable to Alex Plotkin.
6. Furnishings dumped in garage and driveway.
7. Damaged Dresser.
8. Damaged Washer.
9. Damaged Queen sized Box spring
10. Damaged Dining room chair.
11. Broken Antique flower wall hang.
12. Broken glass knobs on hutch.
13. $500 for casual labor.
All our phone calls are documented with cell phone bills including dates and times that we tried to get this resolved before any actions were to happen.
Photos include most of the damage done.
Due to the negligent dumping of our possessions in the garage and driveway, it took 4 people 5 hours to place our furnishing inside our home which was supposed to be completed by your company. We incurred a cost of $500.
The damage to me personally from the emotional stress of this move is still lingering.
