I am writing this because I saw a comment on MSN by Liz Puliam Weston, while looking for an alternative to sell my car that I owed money to the bank.
Dear Ms. Weston, after reading your article on “How to sell your car you don’t own” or "selling your financed car privately" I followed the tips and here's what happened. You should really make the public aware of this. Please read carefully.
I had an older Honda pilot and owed partially to the bank. I was looking to purchase a newer car. I tried several online ads including cars.com, autotrader and craigslist. It was an exhausting experience. I waited hours for some people, mostly no shows, some didn’t have enough money to buy the car and mostly I received so many ridiculous offers over the phone and in person. I thought this is it. I am losing my mind. How can people be so inconsiderate? So, I decided to sell it to a dealer. Here’s the interesting part. I took it to 4 Honda dealers, several Toyota stores and finally Carmax. Guess what....I found a dealer (Trade in Solutions) while looking at other dealers reviews most people said go to them. Trade in solutions helps people that want to sell their car by giving them more than other dealers. Whether you owe on the car or not, they beat other dealers prices. My highest offer from all those stores was 6700. These guys beat all the offers by giving me quite more. That was enough to pay off the car so that I don’t have much of negative equity.
I think you should pass on this information to your readers like myself so that they know there is an alternative to selling it themselves or to other dealers. The only problem is Trade in solutions only has four locations. They did say that they’re expanding. they are great. They must be doing something right. Also, good to know that they have the best customer service. I missed that.
