Greetings, Folks: To any and all persons who have had problems with or who have been ripped off by "TAX CARE PROFESSIONALS," or by any alias it operates under: (see note at bottom, titled "UPDATE"):- I, too, had major problems with this company last year. And what I paid them to do, wasn't done. So here is what I did, and I encourge others to do the same: file a complaint with the DCA: that's the District Attorney's Office: Division of Consumer Affairs. Look them up on Google, and then follow the leads on their website. Be sure to collect all your receipts, and e-mails, and any relevant paperwork you've acquired from your dealings with Tax Care Professionals. This includes canceled checks, debit card withdrawal receipts and manifests; the works. Make copies of these materials as proof for your case against Tax Care Professionals. You want to show that you actually did business with them, and during what periods that business was conducted. Likewise, how much money you paid, when it was paid, and by what method. Fill out the complaint form the DCA website provides, and then put your package together. Also: contact the IRS. Make a note of when you called, who you spoke to, and what IRS division they are assigned to. Get their Agent Number. Very important, because the agent can then be tracked through it. Ask precise questions: Who from Tax Care contacted the IRS? When did they do so? How many times? What were they able to positively affect with the IRS on your behalf? And so forth. When you compile your materials to send to the DCA, be sure your writing is legible, that your copies are in good shape, and that you piece together everything as professionally and thoroughly as possible; as if you were an attorney yourself. The cleaner a job you do, the better for you and the investigator who is assigned to your complaint. And it makes you look good as well, and that's always a bonus. I filed a complaint against Tax Care this past February, and I filed it with the DCA. An investigator who is assigned to my case said they (the DCA)are currently investigating Tax Care's business practices. I've been told it may take a while. If any of you files a complaint as well, a good, solid case of fraud and other trespasses could be built against Tax Care, and much more effectively than through the efforts of one man. And be advised: whoever these people are at Tax Care, they are obviously very good at getting away with bad business practices. They are very saavy at this, or else they would've been nailed a long time ago. So if you decide to go after them through the legal system, be prepared for a fight, and prepare well. Preparation is the key to defeating people like this; that, and perseverence. Each one of us--individually or collectively--has got to outlast them. Such is the case with any battle in life. Don't be passive and permit anger and despair to swallow you whole. Move on to the solution, and good luck to you. Cheers.
UPDATE: A reply from the business in question stated that Tax Care Professionals is now "Tax Debt Experts," or, "Tax Debtxperts." There is apparently some confusion as to what the company actually calls itself now (see the review by Sarah S. a few reviews down from this one, posted 5/5/2010). That alone is cause for concern to the customer. The reasons for that name change remain fairly speculative, and will continue to be so until a further investigation is performed as to why the company changed its name, and what the relationship is that exists between the companies. We must also probe into whether or not the employees and management for Tax Care are now working with Tax Debt Experts. Since Tax Care Professionals is now known as "Tax Debtxperts," or "Tax Debt Experts," be sure to list both companies on the DCA's complaint form. Let them know that a corporate name change was effected for Tax Care Professionals, and that they are now operating under a different name. Be specific, so the investigators can conduct their research into these companies as thoroughly as possible.

According to ex-employees, Tax Care Pros is now operating as Tax Debtxperts. Find more information at taxdebtxperts.com. It is unfair to put up wrong information with such confidence.
