100% false promises

I switched from Elavon through Costco to Strategic Merchant Solutions. I had detailed conversations with Tyler on very specific issues regarding fees on and rates on non-qualified transactions. He (or his pricing team) did an analysis and said my overall rate should be around 2.3% (this is documented in an email). Perfect. My rate before had been creeping up over 2.6% and this was going to be a perfect change. The first statement was 2.98% overall. He tweaks the plan. Next month is down to 2.74%. He tweaks the plan. It goes up to 2.85%, then 2.92%, then 3.04%, then back down to 2.97 and 2.92, then the straw that broke the camel's back, last month was 3.37%. They have not responded to my last complaints. I switched back to the Costco partnership. Never once did they get anywhere close to the expected 2.3% and also never sent rebates for association fees they offered to make up for the high rates. And I was still being charged for association fees they said would be dropped as part of the last tweak.
The only thing Tyler gets credit for is being fairly quick to reply and trying to be attentive to service. But completely fails on delivering the deal as discussed.
In short, don't believe their hype. Get a Costco membership and take advantage of that deal.
