For a long time, I had the highest regard for Staples. They have good quality merchandise with a vast selection, their business delivery is very reliable, and they consistently got our orders correct in the past.
However, some problems have emerged in the past couple of years. We do not always get the brand of product we request, which I've been told by our account rep is related to a cost-saving program our company has been placed on. I would have no problem with that except that the items substituted are not always identical to the products we believe we're purchasing. In at least one case, the brand of product I intended to purchase (which is pictured and described on the StaplesLink website) is not even stocked by Staples, per our account representative.
Also, I have noticed on occasion that the price of a particular item I have ordered consistently in the past has suddenly increased substantially. When I conduct a search on the website, I discover the same item at the former price listed under a different sku number.
With offices at several different locations nationwide, we are limited in the office supply stores we can utilize across the board. Generally, Staples is a dependable, convenient and cost-effective office supply source for businesses, but I would advise all to exercise caution to ensure you receive the merchandise you want at the best available prices.
