We found Rochelle to be unprofessional and uncommunicative. We changed to a more expensive venue on her recommendation in order not to worry about neighborhood noise concerns. When we contracted with Rochelle the one thing we wanted was an evening wedding where the guests could party late into the night – the estate manager shut us down at 10PM! My daughter left her wedding in tears! Why did we change venues and pay more money if the results were the same? We insisted on extra lighting - we ate in the dark. It was 3 strands of lights around a tree and 4 uplights! We paid for “a great lounge feel” in the back yard – it was one brown couch which no one had a chance to use. The flowers were all wrong – we wanted corsages and she showed up with bouquets – we never ever said anything about bouquets as the girls were carrying parasols. She didn’t have enough help and the catering staff had to help set up tables and chairs. Our party favors never made it on to the tables. What do you do with 200 unused expensive favors? They were still decorating the wedding pergola as the guests were arriving. She didn’t show up until an hour before the wedding -after many desperate phone calls to her. She wasn’t there to solve problems with her staff or to keep the wedding party on schedule. She even yelled at the maid of honor.
She was never there when we were desperately trying to find a new venue on the many weekends we made trips to the area. She never set up a cake testing as promised. She always had an excuse. We have an email from her regarding the cost of the new more expensive venue saying there was a $1000 deposit. When we contacted them they said there was no deposit….where did that go? She has yet to respond to our inquiries, but then we didn’t expect her too. We are exploring our options.
With all the planning WE did, our daughter was a beautiful bride and married a wonderful man.
