My husband and I went to PLS in Upland, CA in June of 2009. We signed their contract, paid our fees and patiently waited for our loan modification. Per their contract they were to have our modification completed by 9/15/09. I called them repeatedly to check on the status of our loan mod and was told on every phone call that it was still being process or it was with a negotiator. I phoned them a few days before 9/15/09 to inquire as to their policy if they didn't meet their part of their contract, which would be to have the loan mod completed by the 9/15/09 date. They stated that this was just an estimated time and that it may take an additional 2-3 weeks. We waited and finally after reading some of the reviews on the BBB website my husband and I made the decision to cancel our contract with them and request a refund. We finally received our refund after about a month of continuing phone calls to them asking when our refund was mailed out. Per their contract we were to receive our refund within 5 business days of our contract cancellation. I made mention of this in every conversation I had with their managers and let them know that I was not pleased with their services and the fact that we held up our end of the contract and they did not. I would not recommend this company. Also, I read that as of 10/13/09 no company or bank is legally allowed to receive money for loan modification services.
