2 jobs - 2 Failures! I will NEVER hire Preferred Glass & Windows again... Preferred Glass & Windows installed all new Milgard windows in my home. The quality of the Milgard windows is incredible, but I would NEVER hire Preferred again. The install was
sloppy; it took 4 business days longer than quoted because, as I was told by the woman (Courtney?) in the office, they overbooked multiple jobs, so the crew had to leave early each day to go to another job. The crew left a mess at my house, including nails
everywhere on the roof, which ended up in my pool and in my driveway, and in two tires, one of which was a $400.00 tire that required replacement as the nail went through the sidewall. When I called to ask for their insurance info, Courtney, who was very nice
before cashing my check, turned aggressive and rude, and spouted off how I signed the agreement, and they are not liable. Sadly, I had also already paid Preferred for custom glass doors and frames on my new custom shower. They failed to shim the frames and
there was a huge (4" tall" x up to 3/4") gap at the bottom allowing water to leak out onto the tile floor in the bathroom. The Preferred installer told me that the tile guy messed up and it is not his problem. Thankfully, a neighbor who is a licensed contractor
helped me fix it. We removed the frame that Preferred improperly installed, properly shimmed it, caulked it, and solved the problem. It took less than an hour, 1 tube of silicone, and a favor owed. What really chaps my hide... Milgard came out to measure for
a warranty claim on a window. As a courtesy, he walked my house and looked at my other Milgard windows. To my surprise, the Milgard installer advised me that my windows in three rooms were not installed properly. He showed me the problems and he advised that
I call the original installer and have them come out, remove and seal the windows, and fasten them properly. After he left, I started to pick up the phone to call Preferred and realized... Preferred Glass & Windows has proven to be incompetent for me! Why
would I call them? So, I decided to have it done correctly by another window installer while doing my kitchen remodel, and gladly promote that company. Everyone makes mistakes. I made the mistake of not researching Preferred more, so I take the blame for that.
However, Preferred Glass & Windows just did sloppy work on my house. The icing on the cake??? The owner responded by calling me a liar on Yelp, and did the same thing to others. HORRIBLE customer service.
