I attempted to send a large envelope through Postal Annex using USPS Priority Mail service. I asked for a tracking number or some kind of proof of delivery confirmation and the clerk informed me that USPS does not use tracking, therefore there was no way to provide proof of delivery. Furthermore, the clerk did not give me a receipt for the transaction and promised the package would arrive in order to reassure me.
I now know that USPS Priority service does use tracking numbers, and that I was overcharged (USPS quotes a price of $4.90 for a priority mail large envelope, along with tracking number, Postal Annex charged over $12, charged for the envelope and claimed there was no tracking number.) I now have a claim dispute against me through Paypal because the envelope was never delivered and I now am unable to provide a tracking number or receipt that I mailed out the envelope. I went in person to demand some kind of proof of purchase so that I could possibly locate a tracking number with USPS, they refused to help and still claimed that USPS does not use tracking numbers. The worst service I have ever received, not to mention they blatantly lied to me.
