The short version is that I received a quote on a shower fix from Mike Diamond plumbing for $2,210. I called another plumber, who eventually fixed the problem in 20 minutes for $120. TO SAY THIS COMPANY TRIES TO GOUGE ITS CLIENTS IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
The long version is I had a downstairs shower that, for some reason, the hot water was not working. I called Mike Diamond plumbing who sent someone out immediately -- I thought that was great. They sent a guy by the name of Carlos Santos (still have the invoice Mr. Santos wrote me) who was at my house for more than an hour looking at all my pipes, under the house, etc. Finally Santos tells me that he needs to replace various parts on the shower and writes a quote for $2,210.97. I thought that that was outrageous -- but didn't know, not being a plumber. I called another guy, recommended to me by a coworker. Great plumber -- Sam Ramos. Sam came out, took one look at it, and said I simply needed to replace a valve. After about 20 minutes, he replaced the valve and charged me $120.
Mike Diamond Plumbing is a complete ripoff. Anyone who calls this company may as well just throw their money away. Obviously, they tried to rip me off. THe second plumber took ONE LOOK at it and knew what it was. THE Mike Diamond guy pretended that it was very complicated and then tried to sell me $2200 worth of crap that I DIDN'T NEED. Whatever you do, do not call these guys. I should have looked at the reviews first -- and I would not have spent the $75 charge to come out and look at my problem.
