Review 9/12/2009

I sent the following to this company today Sept 12, 2009. "On Thursday, September 10 I contacted your company about replacing an anti—siphon valve. I was very specific about what I needed done and wanted to be sure that they would have available a valve when they came. I told the person I talked to, that if they didn’t have one to call me and I would get one. The man who came had no idea what the call was for and had no valve. He wrote up an estimate that was outrageous. VALVE ADAPTOR BRASS-$551.34, ANTI= SIPHON VALVE $543.79. Now I knew that this was a fairly simple job that would take less than an hour. I started to do it but because of a problem with my elbow decided to call a plummer. I made the mistake of calling your company. What a joke! I went to Home Depot where I could have purchased the brass valve for $56, but instead bought a plastic valve for $12.98. I called a friend of mine who is a general contractor that I did not want to bother with this. He came and replaced it in 30 minutes and charged me nothing even though I tried to pay him. Last night I was with another friend who is a G.C. and he couldn’t believe the quote either but said he had heard of the company and their practice of overcharging. You should be ashamed! I told your worker that I thought his quote was a joke."
