I own a children's store in Mobile, Alabama. I would like to share my experience with this company with anyone considering signing up.
For almost 4 years now, I have been inundated with postcards, letters, emails, and even phone calls from distributors of this company. I receive on an average 15 to 30 contacts a month. This tells me that this company is selling way more distributorships than they are letting on. by doing the math, I am contacted somewhere around 250 times a year.
I contacted this company in the spring of 2007 and asked to be removed from their lists. They refused to do so. I have even filed a complaint with the BBB. I was contacted by the owner of the company. I asked him to remove me, but he said he couldn't. He shared with me how he gets the lists of stores he sends out to the distributors. He told me he bought a book for $40 that lists all the children's stores in the country. He then makes copies of the lists and sends them out to the distributors.
I own a legitimate business. I would be classified as a boutique and am not in any way a potential customer of this company. I have been so harassed by distributors, though, I wouldn't purchase from this company even if I was interested in their merchandise.
If you are considering doing business with Magic Kids, I would be aware that this is really a scam. Most stores have been contacted numerous times by this outfit, and I'm sure would have bought already if they were interested. BUYER BEWARE!
