If you read no further, heed my words:
Do not believe anything they tell/promise you even if it is in writing. Do not converse, contract, or in any way allow Liberty access to your property. Believe nothing……… and most importantly, do not sign anything without legal representation. Liberty is an insult to the industry and an assault to human decency. Their borderline business procedures and billing tactics should be investigated to the fullest extent of the law.
Due to Liberty Construction’s lack of accountability, steam rolling tactics, and railroading work ethics, I hired a lawyer to help me negotiate with them. She drafted a contract, which outlined clear and concise terms and conditions to serve as a contingency to the completion of the remaining remodel to alleviate future mishaps. Liberty responded with nothing but excuses. Because time needed to be spent wisely, I was compelled to instruct my lawyer to accept only emails from Liberty, not phone calls, because it would be more difficult for them to type, rather than talk, in circles.
We have paid them $21,000 and the bathroom is still unfinished. Additionally, Liberty charged me another $14,000, which the bank refunded me, and they demanded another $20,000 before they would start work in the kitchen. I terminated the contract.
They offered me pseudo condolences, empty words, and, oh yes; I received news that they intend to file a mechanic’s lien against my house for “the balance due” with kind regards, of course. The only ones for whom they seek restitution are themselves.
