I wanted the simplest of services and received a bogus shakedown for more money.
|
I wanted a simple Power of Attorney and a will. Something that would look professional as opposed to Office Max documents (and nothing wrong with OM documents, they APPEAR less than professional. I paid the price for both, $74 bucks and even bought a wallet sized card specifying my wife's wishes. They were supposed to be mailed in a normal size USPS envelope and arrive yesterday, 4/11. I called and asked the lady what the status was of the documents and I was told that nothing had shipped since I had not paid the $9.50 cent shipping fee for each. (It was $9.5 something) I asked where that information was mentioned on their website and lo and behold she couldn't find it either saying that if I wanted the documents I had to pay the shipping. She said that I could download the document as a PDF and I told her then I would have the box store look--what's the point? I told the woman that I wanted my money back, the $74 and $9-something and she said it would take 5-7 business days after the banks spoke with one another.
So I called my bank and they are retrieving the funds for me. You know that old saying Never Trust A Lawyer, it should be amended to say or any outfit representing to be a law firm.
