First, the 'importance notice' above is a good read, especially since I am posting, does not count agains the rating, however it should, but I'm more concerned with as many fine, trustworthy, unsuspecting citizens will become aware of the business practices of Leonard Redway and LR Services Plumbing.
Second, since I filed a law suit and won (a couple of months ago), prior to me seeking out the BBB on this case, I could not file complaint, however, I don't believe you can go below an F on the grading scale. Please note, once you file a case in court, you are unable to file with the BBB. You must utilize the BBB first (if you'd like mediation by them or even to the use them), otherwise they will reject your application. But remember there's always the contractor's state license board http://cslb.ca.gov and the court system (small claims division).
I have filed, and won a case in LA CO Superior Court against Leonard Redway and LR Services Plumbing for services they have failed to do after being paid in advance. They did prior work and was satisfactory-- cleaned up after themselves, bring supplies with them (not making several trips to the hardware store or elsewhere for supplies), and was generally on time. However, after being inspected, the work that was done previously was not done correctly per LA CO DBS and not done per code or of materials they require. Furthermore, extensive work that should be complete never was completed, this entails a bathroom/shower/steam room construction. This work was partially done and not to code nor utilizing the proper materials per LA CO DBS. The bathroom is still inoperable and it's been nearly 2 years sincethe job began and Leonard Redway and LR Services Plumbing took off with my money. Mr. Redway has not returned my money nor completed and fixed (after the code violations) the job he was contracted to do.
In addition to the above, Leonard Redway referred an additional contractor who also ran off with my money, did work incorrectly, in the incorrect order and has done such a job, whereby, the shower has to be torn down in order to use it in it's intended purpose. They both have licenses that should not be used at the present time. LR Services business address is located at 4807 W. Adams Blvd. Los Angeles, CA. I revoke any 'suggestions or business' that I've ever sent LR Services direction in the years prior to this event happening, when smaller repairs were completed and this problem did not occur.
When repair people rip you off, consumers need to share with other consumers so that this does not happen to others. Especially when this is not a 'handyman' or those type of I can find a neighbor or some guy to fix it. I sought out a professional, a licensed person, but from the court case, the unfinished work, incorrect work, non-returning of my money, a professional is not what I received.
Sending letters, attempting to work out different days and times, and having a company not show up at all, is not a business practice I seek in a company I spend my money with.
Honestly, in my heart, I believe the two of them, both companies are scamming people, or at least, tried to scam me, however, I am not a victim. Running off with someones money and not completing work is not something I can give a '1 rating' for, however, this is the lowest it can go.
