I am a 22 year old mother of two I needed to buy a car that was more reliable for my kids. I drove a 1990 Volvo and we kept having to take it to the shop when we spent more than we paid for the car and it was still having problems we decided to get another car. When I received my tax return I went to Jones auto sales and found a 1994 850 Volvo that I unfortunately purchased. Chat Jones (owner) told me the only thing wrong with the car was that the dash rattled I figured that was no big deal and could have it fixed without sending it to a shop. Four days after I bought the vehicle I had my first problem. I stopped @ a gas station and went in to get a drink came out and it wouldn't start. I called Jones he had it towed the following Monday. When I got the car back the next day it wouldn't start again later that same day. So I called Jones again he towed it and had it fixed. Now the radio didn't work when I bought the vehicle so I thought it was just the radio so I purchased a new one and still couldn't get it to work after having an experienced person install the new radio it kept blowing fuses. But after my brights wouldn't turn off after the car was turned off and my signals wouldn't work I called Jones again to have it fixed. I drove it back this time and had it fixed. I was sure that this time would be the last time that I had to take it in but later that day after running my errands on my way home my speedometer stopped working and my car started to shudder and wouldn't shift into second. I had to have my cousin come and pick me and my newborn up at a gas station where we were stranded. I called Jones once again to try to get my car looked at he never called me back. I had someone look at the car and was told it needed a new modulator valve in the transmission.
I had spent every dime I could afford on that car and it didn't even last a month. This man knew I had kids and he sold me a lemon. I asked him for my other car back along with my money and he never would return my call. We are a very low income family only one parent is working because we cant afford day care. We have no money for another car not even another down payment. Thankfully my fiance has a work van so he can still get to work. But I cant take my kids to the doctor get groceries or anything but sit at home with my kids. I am so frustrated and appalled that someone would do this to anyone especially a mother. Do not buy a car from Chat Jones you may regret it.
I had a mechanic come to my house to fix the transmission computer but if i hit a bump in the road i have to pull over and reset the computer. also the bearings on the front two tires are shot so i now have to get that fixed as well. well since i posted my complaint Jones replied. He said i demanded for him to fix the problem i simply said " i will be expecting your call" i in no way demanded anything. in the first month the car was in the shop so many times this is ludicrous I called him back to talk to him and he hung up on me. I still haven't even received the title for the vehicle. i dont know what else to do everytime i fix something something else breaks. simply put do not buy from jones auto sales you may get a lemon.
