Beware of IKEA's return policies. I bought a table last week based on signage throughout the store that promotes a "Love it or Return it" return policy and describes how easy it is to return merchandise, with a few exceptions like bedding. This is not true - at least in my case.
UNFORTUNATELY FOR CONSUMERS LIKE ME, A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE WAS DISCOVERED AFTER IT WAS TOO LATE.
AFTER A PURCHASE OF A SIMPLE TABLE WAS MADE AND PAYMENT HAD BEEN TENDERED, A "NEW" DISCLOSURE WAS BURIED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SALES RECEIPT. IN VERY FINE PRINT IT SAYS "MERCHANDISE MAY ONLY BE RETURNED IF IT IS UNOPENED" - WHICH I DID NOT NOTICE AND WHICH CONTRADICTS THE PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED IN-STORE ADVERTISING POSTERS.
After bringing it home, we decided it was too flimsy for our needs and immediately returned it - which was refused.
My lesson: If you buy it from IKEA - and you open it - you are stuck with it.
For this reason, I give IKEA an "F" grade.
