As agreed upon, we went to check on our shipment of furniture and boxes being moved from one truck to another.
We had heard of horror stories from family and friends that had this happen to them when they moved.
For example, things getting lost and mixed in with other people things when being moved.
My husband and I did not know what to expect.
When we arrived at the warehouse, we found a huge semi-truck parked in the middle of the parking lot.
The two trucks that took our things the day before were backed up one on the side of the truck and one behind with the doors opened butted up.
Now on the other side of the truck there were these big doors that were open and we were able to look inside.
Bill was the only mover from the day before.
He had the inventory sheets that he did the day before spread out on a table.
The semi-truck 18 wheeler driver was sticking all of our furniture still wrapped, I might add, really tight from floor to ceiling in the trailer.
Now as the smaller trucks were being emptied onto the trailer the warehouse men were calling out the numbers on the stickers.
As the numbers were called out, Bill checked them off on the inventory check list.
This is exactly what were told the day before to protect our things from not being lost or mixed in with other people's belongings.
We spent all of 5 minutes watching the loading with the same ease and commaraderie we witnessed the day before.
Steven was the 18 wheeler driver loading and he told me he would be delivering our things in Atlanta within 5 to 7 days after a stop in Dallas Texas.
Now we could finally relax as we drove with our 3 children and dog across the U.S to my new job and our new home.
We made the crossing in 4 days with that bunch even in a big SUV we needed to get there and have our space.
Steve the driver called us from Birmingham 5 days out and confirmed 8 am delivery the next day in Gainesville our new home just outside Atlanta.
When Steve pulled up in front of our house alone @8:30 we did not know who was going to help unload.
Steve asked us if we would help him, it was "honey get the gun" well he was clowning with us at about that time another Guardian 18 wheeler came around to our house.
This Hercules truck had 2 movers and Steve told me they would help unload, they were another crew coming through Atlanta headed west.
Okay this was really proving to be the best organized moving company on the planet.
We went from sending away our first movers and within 6 days our things arrived in our new place 2300 miles from Los Angeles and exactly as we were told by Tom and Bill.
Steve Lenny and his son Scott had all our furniture and boxes moved into our house by 2 that afternoon.
I want to add that these 3 guys had the same disposition as all the Hercules movers did.
The commaraderie and joking with each other while doing heavy labor was sticking an amazing thing.
Guardian Moving Systems took a really bad situation and turned it into a great experience that we will cherish for years.
