This company advertised online hair products called Kronos. Promised to send me free products for free trial if I pay s/h of $4.95. I checked the site over well and did not see any other stipulations. I signed up for the trial. Received product and noticed an invoice for the shampoo and creme rinse was free but the other products were going to be automatically billed monthly to my credit card in the amount of $90, which I did not sign up for. Their site says ALL of these products are free with the free trial and all you pay is s/h of $4.95.
I went back to check out the site again, partially signed up under a different name, and still saw NOTHING that stated my card would be charged this huge amount for their other products or that I had to cancel membership. So I called the company, told them I just wanted the free trial and I did not agree to sign up for anything monthly, let alone at $90.00 a whack. They argued I did. I told them if they didn't cancel my membership immediately and drop the monthly billing of my card I'd call the BBB and the Attorney General. I told them their site was deceiving and they should be ashamed of themselves. The man said it was plainly on their website that I would be billed $90 a month for the other products once I signed up for this free trail. IT IS NOT THERE. They told me they'd cancel my membership and I had to pay to return their product. They let me keep the shampoo and creme rinse and refunded my $4.95 s/h fee. Although they finally returned everything, this is FAIR WARNING to consumers that they are deceitful and you have to be on your toes to catch this or you will be caught in a $90 a month bill with this company. Anything partially hid or hid on a business's site should be against the law! Consumers still TRUST companies and this is ridiculous!
