After my husband and I moved to Florida in 6/2006, we purchased a Magnavox MWC24T5 combination TV VCR & DVD on 7-21-06. It was placed in the spare bedroom for my grandaughters impending visit and was used for one week. The following June, it was used for two weeks during her visit. During this period, we used it to tape programs occasionally until it began eating our tapes and the VCR would no longer work. Now preparing for another visit, I went in to make sure the TV was working and would still play DVDs and low and behold it won't turn on at all. The power is getting to the set but it's dead. My husband is a master electrician and can't figure out whats wrong. We are now on the internet reading the fifth page of the same complaints about this product and many others. We have obviously lost our $257.00 because we can't find even "one" person who's complaint was dealt with satisfactorily. My advice, check to see if any product was made by Funai and don't buy it. They also manufacture for Kodak. Scarey.

Customer's unit is out of warranty, unit was purchased in July of 2006. All Funai warranties are 90 days on labor and 1 year on parts from the date of purchase. Please remember that VCRs are no longer being manufactured, and they do need to be cleaned on occassion if you do still have one. Oils do build up and need a cleaning tape, which is still not as good as a cleaning by an authorized service provider. FYI: Funai does not manufacture any equipment sold under the Kodak name.
