Magnvox MDR515H/F7 failed

The features of this unit as described and lauded by other reviewers are probably accurate. Yes, the features are fantastic and exactly what is needed in the tv/entertainment market. Probably a good unit! My friend recommended it, and I expected it to work well.
But..... My unit failed to open or close the disc tray, so I sent it back. After 4 weeks, I called Funai. They had no record or tracking on the progress of replacing my unit. They refused to accept additional calls (evidently blocked my number). The next day, I received a dirty cardboard box with a bubble wrapped unit. It is scratched, obviously used. It has the serial number altered. The 'Don't open or warranty invalid' sticker broken.
Bottom line: I had a 4 day old (brand new out of the box) unit. I sent it back and wasted a third of my warranty period with it in their hands, and they sent back someone else's defective box with no warranty.
Funai was very abusive about the fact that they had no new replacement unit and if I didn't like it, I could just lump it.
If you get a good one, GREAT! I got a bad one and they refuse to supply a good one.
