I had a problem with an incorrect advertisement that listed the details of a more expensive product than the product number listed in the ad. Upon traveling to the Manhattan Beach store I was told that the product available at the advertised prices was one without the advertised features. When I complained and requested to speak with a manager it took several minutes and finally someone met with me and told me the ad was wrong and there was nothing he could do about it.
I then filed a BBB complaint and was quickly contacted by the store manager who offered to provide the product I wanted at no cost. We had some difficulty connecting and I could not get to the store when he was there for several weeks. Because of this, he sent me a gift card for more than the value of the original item.
My conclusion is that they could have resolved the problem on the spot simply by offering me the described item at the advertised price, which would have cost them about $20. The ultimate resolution cost them $50, and their time, but it has made for much better customer relations. I feel that, in the future, I can shop there with confidence because they will make good if problems should arise.
