This review is for Fry's electronics in Manhattan Beach 3600 Sepulveda Boulevard. Actually, the BBB seems to have the wrong phone number. The correct phone number should be (310) 364-3797 according to http://www.frys-electronics-ads.com/frys-store-location.htm
Anywho, I like how they accept returns with little to no questions asked. If I return something at circuit city or best buy, the people I am returning it to would act like I did something wrong and always tell me something to discourage me from ever returning anything again (as if it's my fault). I can return something to Fry's with practically no questions asked.
Just a short while ago I bought a new AGP video card and I put it in my motherboard. My computer started crashing. I experimented with it for a while and determined something was wrong with the motherboard (something was wrong with how it interpreted ram, I started receiving symptoms before I got this new video card and the problem progressively got worse over time so it's not the new video card's fault. I just didn't really think anything of it until now because it started crashing even more frequently after I got the card). I decided to take back the video card because I didn't need it anymore (nothing wrong with it, but now I can't really use it since my computer keeps crashing) since new motherboards don't really support AGP anymore (they all use PCI-E now, which is better but my motherboard doesn't support that). I explained that to them and they took it back with no questions asked. That's rare.
The thing about Fry's is that each representative is kinda independent (since they're on commission though they do work together sometimes to answer questions you may have). Most of their staff are helpful but few can be somewhat ignorant at times and sometimes even arrogant. So my advice for anyone who shops at Fry's is to find a helpful representative who can explain what everything is and how it works before you start buying computer parts or anything. If one person that works there isn't very helpful don't automatically assume that everyone who works there is useless. If you keep asking, you should eventually find someone who knows what they're talking about. Often times you can even find other customers that may help you. But don't let anyone push you into a sale before you know what you're buying (but most staff aren't too pushy). Also be careful, sometimes mail in rebates expire before the deadline for returns. We had one mail in rebate that had to be submitted/shipped in 3 days whereas we got 15 days to return the object that we bought (assuming we hadn't submitted the mail in rebate).
