Whatever you do DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I hired them to move me from NY to PA. I entered into a binding contract with them for $1729. That was based on weight. On the day of the move, they did not show up but subcontracted another company for my move who, on the day of the move, increased my agreement to $2150 because they said they didn't charge by weight but rather by the amount of furniture that would fill the truck. Because I moved on a Sunday, I could not get in contact with FMS until the next day and when I finally did contact them to tell them about my contract being broken, they completely ignored me. They did absolutely nothing to try to resolve the problem. Didn't even bother returning my phone calls. On top of that, the company they subcontracted (Official Movers) -- on top of the extra $421 they charged me on the DAY of the move, they tried to get an extra $500 out of me (the original amount of the deposit I put down with Federal Movers). Official Movers claimed the deposit I put down with Federal Movers didn't apply to them. Then, they didn't even complete the job. They didn't bring a truck big enough for all of my belongings and left a lot of items behind that they REFUSED to return to get. So I had to make 3 trips on my own from PA back to NY to retreive the rest of my items. But what makes their company even worse is that they did soooo much damage to my property. They cracked my tv, broke my glass door to my wall unit, put holes in my basement wall, scratched my dresser, bent my tv stand and lost essential screws and pieces to reassembly my furniture. They are the WORST company you could ever choose to move you. Unless you want added stress, damaged property and a company that will break their signed binding contract with you, stay as far away from Federal Moving Systems as possible! That goes double for their affiliated company, Offical Movers!
