Elly Nesis WILL keep 100% of your security deposit, regardless of condition of the apartment after you move out. They made a claim on us for needing to "paint the entire apartment" for $1400 after we moved out, in addition to multiple other charges, when we did not paint anywhere or damage any walls. We hung a few pictures - standard wear and tear - and their painting charge was in addition to a charge to "paint the stair railing" and to "patch apartment walls" for another several hundred dollars. I move frequently for work and have rented from 6 different property management companies over the past 12 years, and I have ALWAYS received my entire security deposit back because I always care for the properties in which I live and hire cleaning services to do a deep clean just to be careful before I move out, as I did with Elly Nesis. Yet, they charged us $1700 in fees when our lease ended; and I know other tenants who had the same experience with absurd fees charged for problems they did not cause.
In addition, Elly Nesis was the worse experience I have ever had with maintenance issues. For example, we lived without air conditioning for 2 months in Florida. Three different times they sent their maintenance person to come "work on it," with no success - we suspect that the AC unit needed to be replaced and they were avoiding it at all cost. Another example is our dishwasher was broken upon moving in, and it took 3 months for them to fix it, despite multiple maintenance requests, phone calls, and emails. These are just a couple of a dozen stories regarding issues we had with maintenance and other unacceptable living conditions they did not address, in addition to their attempt to wrongfully withhold our security deposit.
Do NOT rent from this company! Don't be fooled by fake reviews left claiming a positive experience! (This company uses other names, too - Tampa Bay Property Management Group is one). And if you do - negotiate your lease terms to ensure they can't take advantage of you as they did us. Take lots of pictures at the beginning and end of your lease. And RUN EVERY APPLIANCE before you agree to sign (dishwasher, oven, microwave, washer dryer, etc.) because if something is broken they will not fix it for weeks or months.
