I went to Electric Golf Cart Warehouse on Friday 8-5-11 to purchase a cowl for my 2001 EZ GO Golf Cart, I met with Dave (the owner) and Dave gave me the price of $500 to purchase the cowl and $50 to install it. I had my golf cart loaded on my truck and after agreeing on the price, Dave placed his own ramps on my truck and asked me to bring the cart down. I drove the cart down after Dave placed the ramps on the truck and parked it in front of his shop. Dave demanded $500 cash up front to work on the golf cart and asked to pay the $50 when I pick it up on the same day at 6PM. When I asked for receipts, Dave said he will have one ready for me when I pick up the gold cart. I went back at 6PM as agreed with Dave, the cart was not ready and we had to wait for about 30 minutes, during that time Dave was very angry with us and start treating us very rude. When my wife asked to buy a steering wheels package for my golf cart, Dave told her that the package is $105, my wife asked if he can give it to her for $100 as we already spending $550 in his shop, Dave replied "I don't need your $100, it means nothing to me, I am use to see half a million dollars in my checking account". My wife was very angry at his comment and came and told me. I went to Dave and said' I am sorry that we are poor people and usually don't see half a million dollar in our checking account". I just wanted to let him know in nice way that what he said was not acceptable. After finishing the cart, Dave's worker installed his own ramp on my truck and asked me to drive my cart up the ramp as he was guiding me. As soon as the cart went over the ramp and the front tires were on truck bed, the ramp fell down with the cart and me in it so hard, my son was there and my wife and they were extremely scared and crying. The worker told me to say next to the truck while he gets help. I waited for 20 minutes and no one came to help. I went to see Dave and told him what happened and he replied "so, is it our fault". I replied “yes, your worker put your own ramp on my truck wrong and asked me to drive my cart up and he had the ramp secured and ready to go. Dave became very very angry and started to scream and yell at me in front of my wife and son, Dave said "the only way I can help you put your cart back on the truck, you need to sign a release that you will NOT sue me for the damage on your cart, or any physical or emotional damage for you, your wife and son. I told Dave, no, I will not sign such a thing. Dave replied "I won't help you, and get the F out of here". My son started to cry at that point and he was afraid, I told Dave “is this the way you do business", Dave replied" Yes, this is the way I do business, what the F are you going to do about it" and he got in my face and started to say "come-on bring it on, bring the F on, you need to know that all my workers here are parolees and they just got out of jail, so you need better watch the F out and watch your back, before I F you up". At that point I was in fear for my wife and my child, so I dialed 911 to get help, as soon as I dialed 911 he started to pull the ramps from under my cart to hide his ramps, but he could only pull one as the other was stuck under eh cart tire. Right away he started to close the shop and let all his "out of Jail" workers leave before the cops shows up. The cops couldn't do anything, so I had to hire people to help me putt my damaged cart back on the truck. Dave refused to give ma receipt for the money I paid and the cops couldn't make him do it.
