Review 9/1/2007

I have found that making appointments with this dental group to be an aggrevating endeavor to say the least. I feel they have too many patients and making an appointment for my daughter and I for just a general cleaning would not be allowed until a full examination, dental work was done and then the cleaning appointment would be made three months later. This group would not schedule my daughter's appointment after school hours. They required her to take off school time to be seen. When we arrived, we watched a movie - I think it was PG13 - I had to turn off the movie in the dental room when sexual content was shown. On another visit, I saw the same movie in the waiting room, with other children watching the same scene. Not a child friendly atmosphere to say the least. I was told that to complete all of the dental work necessary, it would cost me $8100. After declining all except for necessary treatment, I was told that I would need a "full mouth debridment" instead of a cleaning and that would cost me $95. I have never paid for a cleaning - and never had to do this type. I called my insurance company and they said that there have been numerous complaints against this dental group and I could get a second opinion. I did just this - in fact a couple of opinions. Both dentists could not believe that this dental group wanted to do this type of cleaning on my teeth - it was not necessary "by any means". This dental group is looking for ways to go beyond normal care in order to make money. I truly wonder if the "cavities" I did let them fill were actually there. I am upset that I did not leave them sooner. And, after expressing my views to friends and neighbors about this group, I have found that at least three families I have spoken to have gone to this group, felt the same way, and have left. I feel it completely necessary to write this review and protect others from future hassle.
