I wish I had read these reviews before my last trip to LAX. What a complete nightmare! They took over an hour to pick me up. One of the 3 times I called them they said it was taking longer for me because they didn't have a car for me and the driver had to go to Thrifty to get a car. They weren't particularly friendly or helpful but it was 1.30am so I chalked it up to that. The next morning I realized that there was only 1/4 tank of gas in the car. Unusual since I am accustomed to a full tank of gas so I noted this on the email survey they sent out. When returning the car I left a bit more time to get there since it had taken so long to pick me up from the airport I was imagining the same situation on the return. I drove up to see a "Deluxe Rent a Car has moved to 5215 W. Imperial Highway." They couldn't have told me that when I picked up the car? When I called them no one picked up and no one returned my call. I had to find the location myself which, thankfully, wasn't too far away. Eight days later I checked my credit card statement and found that they hadn't refunded the $500 deposit even though I had paperwork showing that they would. I called and they gave me some lame excuse about having to change banks and they had to wait for a merchant account number, etc. She advised that the quickest way to get my money would be to get my bank or creditor to request a charge back. Seriously?! From reading these reviews, I'm thinking that this kind of practice has been going on for a long time. I wonder if many people don't even check their statements to know that they are being charged more for their rental car. Unbelievable! They should be shut down NOW!!! Absolutely DO NOT use this agency!
