he Most Horrifying Experience Ever. I reserved a minivan two months before my trip to LA with four kids. My flight arrival at LAX was 10:30 PM. Called the Deluxe two days before just to make sure and was told that there is no mini van available. Got so upset and tried to talk to their manager but I was told that the manager was fired. Called them again and again because I could not find mini van from any other company in LA because of holidays. Nervous and angry, I thought of canceling air tickets because my entire trip was based upon minivan. Called Deluxe company 20 times during that night and was told repeatedly that they overbooked. I was even told by a supervisor (not manager) that I should have a backup plan. I was stunned and about to explode. I finally found a 7 seater SUV from avis but at another location and prepaid for that since I was totally refused by Deluxe at the last moment. That was a very bad option since I had to go to hotel at night via a shuttle and next day pick up the SUV from longbeach airport again by taking a cab. I was still hoping to find minivan at LAX from Deluxe so did not cancel that one. When I reached LAX at night from NY, called Deluxe and was told there is minivan available. I did not want to go with that but it was still a better choice than getting SUV from longbeach airport the next day. When I reached Deluxe location by taking a shuttle from LAX, it looked like an auto repair shop. The first thing you will notice that they have no big sign at there location like the other rental companies. Only a small sign handing at the door. There was another customer infront of me who was travelling with two kids and had reserved a full size car but he was given a small car with no trunk. The guy was screaming since either he could fit the luggage in the back seat or seat his kids. He complained but was told to either take it or leave it. I could not imagine that. The poor guy could not go elsewhere since the rental location is in the middle of nowhere and it was mid christmas night and all other car rentals were sold out anyway. So his kids sat on the top of luggage at the backseat. He told the Deluxe service representative that their company will be responsible for any consequences but was bluntly told told not to take it then. They poor guy left but came back sine the car was out of gas. He was told to go to nearby gas station. I could not imagine how the poor guy was keeping his patience. Then came my turn. Luckily I got a mini van but it did not end here. After i got the car and came out and reached the hotel, I noticed that one headlight was broken, the car had scratches all over, had no car registration card inside and the car mileage was showing 130K. Worst of all i checked the rental paper given to me and noticed that my name was spelled wrong and my address was totally different. I called Deluxe the next morning and was told to go to nearest pepboys and replace the headlight myself which they will reimburse later. Regarding my wrong address, I was told that they gave me someone else's reservation and just changed the name. You cannot image how i felt driving that car for the next seven days to vegas with kids inside and no protection and care given to me and the car. Luckily the car did not break down but I got my nervous breakdown during all those days until I returned that piece of junk back to the junkyard. While returning back to them, I could not find them at the address specified simply because they have no sign outside and after reading all whatever I wrote, you will understand why they dont have that. I am going to call Business Bureau, and all other possible places to bring this company and its owner (could not find his name) to justice so that innocent people dont get robbed and cheated like me. I am also going to call Kayak.com and carrentals.com to remove them from their search because this company is a scam.
