I HAVE BEEN A COSTCO CUSTOMER FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND BOUGHT ALMOST EVERYTHING IN MY HOUSE FROM THEM. RECENTLY I WENT SHOPPING AT THE STORE IN COLUMBIA AND TRIED USING A DEBIT CARD THAT IS FROM A JOINT ACCOUNT I HAVE WITH MY MOTHER. THE CASHIER REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE CARD BECAUSE THE NAME ON THE PHYSICAL CARD WAS NOT MINE. I WENT TO SEE THE SUPERVISOR AND EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT THIS WAS A JOINT ACCOUNT AND I CAN LOG INTO THE INTERNET TO PROVE IT. BUT HE INSISTED THAT I SHOULD HAVE TRANSFERED THE MONEY INTO MY PRIMARY CHECKING ACCOUNT BEFORE COMING TO THE STORE. THIS WAS EMBARRASSING TO PUT IT MILDLY. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND A POLICY THAT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO USE A DEBIT CARD. AS A MULTIPLE ACCOUNT OWNER IN THE SAME BANK I HAVE ONLY ONE BANK CARD. IT WILL BE TO EVERYONE'S BENEFIT IF COSTCO CAN WRITE OUT THIS CHANGES IN THEIR POLICY AND REMIND THEIR CUSTOMERS ABOUT THEM. I TRANFERED MY MEMBERSHIPO TO SAM'S CLUB. THE TWO ARE BASICALLY THE SAME OR BASED ON MY CURRENT EXPERIENCE SAM'S CLUB IS BETTER IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF MONEY TO TIE UP AND REQUIRE SMALLER QUANTITIES AT THE SAME PRICE.
