Unbelievable--they finally sent the product. New Customer? RUN! Scam Victim? FIGHT.
|
After waiting just over 16 months, Century finally shipped my order. If you are contemplating becoming a NEW customer, RUN AWAY, but if you are a victim of Century Photo fraud, there may be hope. You will need your order confirmation number. In my case, they did have this number on record, along with all details of the order. If they tell you they have no record, keep after them.
I had called periodically since May, 2011, first getting nothing but recorded messages and never a return call. But in the summer of 2012 I started getting promotional e-mails from them...what nerve! I called again and did reach a live operator, who made the usual promises that the merchandise would be shipped. I flatly told her that these were lies, and I refused to back down. I continually reiterated that Century had committed theft by taking my money without shipping the merchandise. I told her I had filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission. She refused repeatedly to transfer me to a supervisor. I kept her on the line until she hung up on me. I then called back and told the next operator that she had hung up on me; perhaps this was the key? I again refused to take "no" for an answer. The operator then promised a shipping date in September. I replied that I felt her promise was yet another lie, but that I would be on the phone again on the promised arrival date.
I was astonished to receive a box from UPS yesterday, containing my Century order.
I will never order from them again, but it was ultimately worth the battle.
