I PURCHASED A CAR AND 3 DAYS LATER SMOKE WAS POURING OUT OF THE CAR. I RETURNED THE CAR AND HAD TO FIND A NEW CAR FROM THEIR INVENTORY AT ANOTHER DEALER. I FOUND A COMPARABLE CAR AT A HIGHER PRICE AND DECIDED TO TRY THE PROCESS AGAIN. WHEN I TEST DROVE THE NEW CAR, THE ACCELERATION WAS POOR AND THE BRAKES WERE OLD. THEY ASSURED ME THAT THE CAR WAS ALREADY INSPECTED BUT THAT THEY WOULD RE-INSPECT THE CAR. AFTER RE-INSPECTION, THEY FOUND THAT THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE FUEL FILTER AND AIR FILTERS WERE BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I THEN DECIDED TO PURCHASE THIS CAR AND HOPED THAT THIS WOULD BE THE LAST OF MY PROBLEMS. NOT LESS THEN AN HOUR OFF THE LOT, DID THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON THE DASH. I HAD TO BRING THE CAR BACK IN SO THEY COULD TRY TO FIX MY SECOND CAR NOW. THEY CALLED BACK AND STATED THAT THEY CANT FIND A PROBLEM AND THAT THE CAR'S PROGRAMMING MAY JUST NEED TO BE RESET. THEY HAVE NOT OFFERED ANY COMPENSATION OTHER THAN A COUPLE OF COUPONS FOR SOME OIL CHANGES. THIS HAS BEEN THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE EXPERIENCE I HAD HOPED FOR FROM CARMAX. ALL OF THE ADVERTISING IS NOW CONSIDERED VERY DECEIVING. I WARN ANYONE PURCHASING A CAR FROM CARMAX TO RECONSIDER AND TAKE YOUR CHANCES WITH AN ACTUAL DEALER.
