The only reason they are getting one star is that the coffee was actually decent, and giving zero stars was not an option. This company offers very generous promotions to entice customers for a trial membership to the Connoisseur Club. Not unlike a music club or movie club you receive monthly shipments of coffee automatically. I gave the club a shot and decided it was not for me. When I logged online to cancel my membership it was written that this could only be done by phone. I called spoke with someone who tried to get me to change my mind with further offers and options but I just said I wanted to cancel. She told me my cancellation was taken care of. 3 months later with no deliveries and no charges I get a charge out of the blue. I call to see what is up and they told me that I had not in fact canceled and my 2 month hiatus from the club was due to a "billing error" I canceled again insisting on a written confirmation, which I received but with no option to cancel the order that had not yet shipped. If I sent it back I would only be refunded partially and would essentially be paying 25$ for their mess-up. I went from annoyed to concerned when I realized that others had been through what I went through. This is pretty sleazy business practice to make phone cancellations mandatory and then not send an email confirmation out, delay service, and then spring another charge on the customer. Hopefully I will never have to deal with this company again. The sad thing is I actually liked the coffee, but it was not a good value.
