I applied to Aurora Loan Services to get a loan modification with the help of President Obama’s Making Home Affordable Program. Aurora requested the typical information such as income and expenses etc. which was sent immediately. From January thru June I received a multitude of very confusing and contradicting letters from Aurora as such: January 6, 2010 Letter offering help through President Obama’s Home Affordable Modification program or other alternative loan workout options. February 15, 2010 Cannot offer a Home Affordable Modification because the Investor Guarantor is not participating. If this is true, why did it take 4 months to tell me? March 5, 2010 While your loan is ineligible for the Home Affordable Modification Trial Period Plan (HMP) program….your loan is currently under review for a standard modification. April 26, 2010 Unable to offer you a HAMP Modification because you are not eligible due to a previous denial. If you circumstances, such as income, have changed significantly, please provide complete updated HAMP documentation to the address below. Forms can be obtained online at https://www.myauroraloan.com/HRG/ or if you do not have internet access you can request a letter be sent to the mailing address on file. I thought they didn’t participate in the Home Affordable Modification Program. April 30, 2010 Appreciates the opportunity to consider your request for a loan workout option and supports this outreach event to help you move forward with the application and underwriting process. Aurora Loan Services looks forward to collecting your documentation, which is a vital step in this process. In order to better assist you, the HOPE NOW Alliance, President Obama’s Making Home Affordable Program and Neighborworks America are bringing mortgage companies, mortgage market participants and non-profit housing counselors to your area to offer loan workout options………. On May 1 I applied with HOPE NOW Alliance, President Obama’s Making Home Affordable Program and was approved. This information was sent to Aurora through the Loan Modification Company. May 4, 2010 Over the phone a man told me that they never received the following requested information: Updated letter of hardship and Updated bank statement These items were never requested in the days prior. He said it was out of his hands and the property would go up for sale at 10:00 am the following day, May 5, 2010. Never received a request for updated information. (Of course, I received their letter dated May 4 requesting this information several days later) May 4, 2010 We received the package of financial materials that you submitted to us for consideration of your request for a loan workout option. Unfortunately, the package is incomplete. If you would like us to review your financial information and offer you possible loan workout options, it is very important that you immediately provide the following item(s): Detailed hardship letter that is signed and dated Verification of additional income May 4, 2010 Unfortunately, your request has been denied for the following reason(s): We have not received the documents / information requested from you. As of the date of this letter, your request for a loan workout option is considered closed.
I was advised to file bankruptcy that I did not want to do. In filing for bankruptcy an attorney was available for free consultation. When this attorney looked at my paperwork, she gave it back to me and said Aurora will take your home. That’s what they do. I can’t help you. May 10, 2010 Letter acknowledging filing of bankruptcy. They will continue sending statement for my information only and will stop sending them upon my request. There is a form attached for me to send in if I decide I no longer wish to receive statements. May 27, 2010 Aurora Loan Services received the package of financial materials that you submitted to us in support of your request for a Loan Modification Program (HAMP). Unfortunately, the package is incomplete. If you would like us to review your financial information and offer you possible foreclosure alternatives, it is very important that you immediately provide the following item(s) within 30 calendar days from the date of this letter: Approval from Bankruptcy Attorney and/or the Bankruptcy Court Trustee Mortgagor’s 2 most recent paycheck stubs Mortgagor’s most recent tax return, including schedules NOTE: I am a 100% Disabled Veteran therefore I do not work nor do I pay taxes. I had sent information to them twice regarding my Veteran Disability since starting this request for loan modification. Also, the loan that I was trying to get the modification on, already had this information and it was with Aurora Loan Services!! June 17, 2010 As of May 4, 2010, the request for a loan modification was denied due to Aurora Loan Services LLC not receiving the requested documents. NOTE: the letter dated May 27 gave me 30 days to respond. I responded on June 24, 2010 via fax.
