My husband and I was going through a divorce. We chose the paralegal route to avoid accruing legal costs. We came upon a paralegal who quoted us the total fee of the divorce process. We were not given an option other than the pay in full to start the process. Our dilemma; we did not like that the company had requested for payment in full. They did not complete the work as promised. After the first 2 meetings, the paralegal brushed us off. Excuses were made; they either had too many clients, or because they moved to a new site, they were not responsible for keeping any documents, and we stressed them out.
I would recommend to potential clients that the fee should be in payments (according to the required steps/phases of the case). Never pay in full even though they sweet talk you and promise you.
