My home was in jeopardy of foreclosure. Finally a little over 10 business days before the sale date of my home they wanted to send incomplete/inaccurate paperwork to my mortgage company for a modification on our loan. I received a budget sheet from them with made up and exaggerated figures, which was so frustrating after all I had already sent and invested. For that reason and time being of the essence on the sale of my home, I decided this would jeopardize me rather than help me. I asked them to stop all attempts on our file and asked for a refund. They not only threatened me that they would send the incomplete/inaccurate information as is, but they have neglected to respond to any of my requests. I feel like they took advantage of my dire situation for financial gain. On 04/2011 -
PEOPLE BEWARE! The following is the response I received from the BBB regarding AFF and after AFF gets your money this exactly what they do NO RESPONSE: "In the absence of any response from the company this complaint despite our two requests to them, we are closing our file on this complaint. This unanswered complaint will become part of the information we report to the public on this company for the next three years. Should any government agency request our files on this company, your complaint will also be included. If you have settled this complaint directly with the company, would you please email us to let us know that, as well as any other comments you might have. Your help in doing this is important to ensure that our report to the public on this company is accurate. Thank you for using the Better Business Bureau". I am out of state and unfortunately, I referred them while in the process with AFF. The person I referred while visiting California went to the address they list the supposed "office" and guess what?! There was nothing there!!! Probably just a license hanging on the wall to claim they have an office. Talk about shady business?! Leonard J is a patriot! Follow up with the Attorney General. The ones that ended up being of great help to my situation was NACA - Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, they are a non-profit and although they don't guarantee results they do everything they can to help you. Go to www.naca.com to find out what they do. I have filed my complaint with the California Attorney General as well!
