We also had issues with ADC. Not sure how they got our copier model (may have been a temp employee) however, we were advised by our legal department that we did not have to pay for it. They had done the standard tricks, sent the invoice 15 days after the date with a 10 day return policy.
I called, big surprise, no call back. We sent a registered letter (with return receipt) stating: 1. It was unsolicited invoice 2. There were attempts to contact them (legal recommended you include exact dates and you can use your letter for evidence) 3. We would hold their merchandise for 5 days after receipt of certified letter and would return ONLY if they sent a shipping label. 4. We would start to charge for storage at the rate of $10 day for 10 days. 5. If they had not contacted after that their merchandise would be returned with no further compensation.
We also sent an email copy.
We never heard from them and destroyed their merchandise.
