Good To Great
|
My daughter was good at reading but she is by nature competitive. She wanted her reading level higher.Other students had gotten ahead of her and she wanted to catch up and be in the lead. I made a bet with my rising 2nd grader that if she did just 20 minutes/day of Ace Reader during her summer months that I could promise her she would be the lead in her 2nd grade year. She was motivated and did it every day on Daddy's computer during the summer. Her reading is phenomenal, her verbal reading to a group is loud and confident, and her comprehension great. The only downside is that she now regularly corrects my reading. Small price to pay. This summer I am putting my son, arising 1st grader, on the same program a year earlier than I did his sister. I will let you know how it turns out.
