What you experienced is a common result with debt settlement companies: you get sued by your creditors! The most detailed account that I have seen on how to get out of a debt settlement program is posted at www.getoutofdebt.org by credit industry expert and blogger Steve Rhode: http://getoutofdebt.org/20126/how-to-get-out-of-a-debt-settlement-program-and-get-a-big-refund#
It's not easy, though.
In the meantime, the arbitration summons is something you need to deal with and you should get some real legal help asap.
When you have time, file a complaint with the Attorney General in your state about the debt settlement company you used and also submit a complaint to your local BBB. The Attorney General office in many states have already filed lawsuits against debt settlement companies for fraud. The ever-expanding roster of complaints and suits strengthens future cases against these companies.
Please post a review here on TrustLink about the company. Good luck with your situation.

Yes, you may register your complaint with the FTC, BBB and the AG. But remember to check the accreditations of such companies before you enroll with another one. The good ones will present their accreditations and testimonials in their websites.

One should take complains seriously especially when this complain is made in BBB.
According to consumer protection act a consumer has all right to complain if promised services are not delivered in time.
If such a complain is raised with BBB then the owner of the corporation should take it seriously and resolve the issue else the same could lead to company closure as well.
Also I would like to highlight that consumers can also make complains in FTC website, please visit www.ftc.gov for the same.
hope this information helps all.
Any company with a bad rating and high amount of un resolved complaints in BBB should be avoided.
Thanks
ALG Team.
