Is John Robert Powers from LA casting in Seattle, 7th floor in Macy's a scam ?. I took my kid there and I did not have much info than a brochure for acting classes, they asked for personal questions as birthday, school, etc, also they asked my child to read a paragraph about peanut butter and videotaped and I am supposed to call back on Monday. Please if you know about it let me know. I do not want to waste time or money.

This company is not BBB Accredited and currently has a C rating and 60 complaints with the West Palm Beach BBB.
I would be careful when dealing with this type of industry. Asking for advance fees for lessons, agency services, portfolios. photographs and other services may have licensing requirements.
You should contact the Florida Atty General office to see if they are registered and licensed accordingly.
