TrustLink was originally founded by the Better Business Bureau in 2008 to provide a forum for consumer complaints and compliments regarding the service companies they’ve employed. The site was launched in 2010 and in less than a year became the most popular rating site in Southern California for Home Improvement, Professional Services, Retail and Web-based businesses. Based on TrustLink’s rapid acceptance, it’s clear both consumers and service businesses value a trusted system for interaction and reviews.
TrustLink uses redundant fact-checking systems so that consumers can depend on the quality of posted reviews and ratings. Aside from prohibitions on profanity and privacy, consumer reviews are posted without editing and consumers can see exactly what other consumers think about reviewed companies. More importantly, no business can pay for a rating or post their own reviews, ensuring that the review system is fair to all. Using these practices, TrustLink has quickly become one of the most trusted sites on the web.
TrustLink has a no-entry-fee, open structure that enables consumers and service companies to register, read reviews, post reviews and interact with one another without any membership charges. Companies that want access to advanced services including enhanced storefront construction, preferential search listings and mediation services can become TrustLink members for a low monthly fee.
In 2012 TrustLink was spun out of the BBB to address a wider geographic audience of consumers and businesses.
